# Pebblebed

Technical founders want technical investors. This was our hypothesis when we started Pebblebed. It appears to be true, or at least true enough.

We back people solving technically rigorous problems. We call these "self-protecting ideas": simple to state, punishing to execute, and valuable precisely because most people hear the plan and walk away.

We have a [warehouse in SF](https://share.google/F9bSdnghldHztHqbl) with a bunch of robots in it sometimes. You can come work there if you want. We have coffee.

~20 investments per fund. We lead.

## Team

### Pamela Vagata

Pam was the creator of FBLearner Flow, a founding member of OpenAI, and led AI at Stripe. She likes to ask: "What happens when this actually works?"

### Keith Adams

Keith founded Facebook AI Research and served as Chief Architect at Slack. He has strong opinions about distributed systems and whiteboards hard.

### Tammie Siew

Tammie first venture-d at Sequoia before starting up herself, combining the mission of healthcare access with her love of video games. She is building the investor she wish she had.

### Nicole Levin

Nicole thinks in systems, stories, and social graphs to create bridges between people and ideas. She previously ran ops at AI startups and was a broadcast journalist, and now stewards the Pebbleverse.

### Michael Thomas

Michael helped launch FAIR and scaled Research & AI teams at Cruise, Facebook Reality Labs, and The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. He's drawn to founders building things that make you ask: "Wait, can you actually do that?" EQ > IQ.

### Kevin Liu

Kevin loves exceptional product and infrastructure companies before they become consensus. The best ideas often come from places most people do not bother looking.
